MAASIN CITY — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Southern Leyte Provincial Office, through Provincial Director Marian Go-Soco, successfully handed over a device that provides digital access to various government services.
Recently, Maasin City Mayor Nacional Mercado, together with Public Relations and ICT Unit Head Ma. Essie Espina-Garvez, formally received the 1-unit eGov PH Kiosk, a digital touchscreen system one-stop hub that provides fast and convenient access to the public.
The eGov Kiosk allows residents to access services from national agencies such as PSA, BIR, SEC, PNP, TESDA, LTO, PDEA, and others.
In a further report from LGU Maasin, starting this coming month of July, the system will also include some services from the local government to further expedite the process of transactions within the city.
Through the eGov Kiosk, government services will be delivered to the people in a faster, easier, and more accessible manner.
Maasin City is said to be the first LGU in the entire Southern Leyte to be selected by the DICT to benefit from this modern and innovative technology.
It was learned that the city was nominated for the 1st Philippine SMART and Sustainable Communities Awards which recognizes the LGU’s efforts towards digital innovation.
