Student from St. Bernard, So. Leyte, arrested for 10 counts of rape

MAASIN CITY — A 16-year old student from the municipality of St. Bernard, Southern Leyte, was arrested on Friday evening, September 10, for alleged ten (10) counts of rape.

According to a police report, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued last July 7 by Judge Jacinto Elle, the presiding judge of Regional Trial Court, Br 26, San Juan, So. Leyte, operatives conducted manhunt operation against the minor suspect.

The accused, who has been listed as Top 1 Most Wanted Person (provincial level), was nabbed through the efforts of St Bernard Municipal Police Station, in the leadership of PMaj Ronnie Abendan (Acting COP), together with 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company led by PCpl Constancio Sumayod under the supervision of PLt Col Joel Nicha.

No bail bond was recommended.

“The accused was now brought to St. Bernard MPS for documentation prior turnover to the court of origin.” the report reads.
