So. Leyte cops join blood letting amid Covid-19

Camp Gov. Alfredo K. Bantug, Maasin City – COVID19 pandemic won’t stop us from pursuing one of our goals which is to serve and protect lives. This goal has been given emphasis especially this month as we are celebrating Police Community Relations Month every July of the year. We have several lined-up activities that promote stronger partnership between the community/stakeholders and the PNP to which this Bloodletting activity is included.

Southern Leyte Police Provincial Office, through the leadership of its Provincial Director PCOL NELSON DC EUCOGCO conducted Bloodletting activity this morning together with CHU personnel led by Dr. April Gervie Macabuhay, Medical Health Officer III and Red Cross Volunteers. Municipal Police Stations of lower units sent their representative to donate blood for the activity including the FTPs of Maasin CPS.

The activity was a success as it was able to collect 41 bags of blood which was later brought to Red Cross Office for storage and possible use. SLPPO considers this Blood Donation as a means to provide help to those in need of blood donation especially during this health crisis.

With this, the Provincial Director is grateful to the Blood Donors as well as the Red Cross volunteers and CHU personnel for their commendable support to the said activity. It just shows that compassion still exists. Lastly, we take courage in knowing that as we dedicate ourselves to the public, some people are always there to support us. (PR)
