In recognition of almost 37 years of honorable and invaluable service to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the country, provincial camp here rendered retirement honors to Novicio last Friday afternoon.
In behalf of the Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) Regional Director Police Brigadier General Rommel Cabagnot, the event was graced by Deputy Regional Director for Administration PBGen Ronaldo Mendoza, together with PLt.Col Hector Enage, Acting Chief RPRMD, and PLt. Col Teddy David, Regional Pastoral Officer.
In a press release, Novicio was awarded with Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod (PNP Special Service Medal) and Medalya ng Paglilingkod (PNP Long Service Medal) in honor of his noble service and unwavering commitment to the country.
A Gallery of Awards, Retirement ID, and ATM Replica and other mementos were also given to him.
During his valedictory speech, Novicio sincerely thanked all the people who have supported him in any way.
He further said that in his almost 37 years of service, he was assigned at different cities and municipalities, but SLPPO will forever have a special spot in his heart.
“This day gives me a mixed emotion. I am happy of the thought that I have succesfully went through my journey in the police service and I will finally be spending the remaining decades of my life dealing with my personal life, at last,” Novicio said in his speech.
“Tapos na ang aking paglilingkod sa bayan. Sa isang banda, ako ay nalulungkot sa katotohanan na natapos na ang paglilingkod ko sa bayan bilang isang pulis. Pero kagaya ng kasabihan, ang lahat ay may katapusan, lahat ay may ending,” he ended.
Meanwhile, Police Colonel Michael David is now the Acting Provincial Director in the province effective September 10, 2021.
David was previously assigned as Tacloban City director.
