The construction of this concrete barrier is a practical solution to the problem of overflowing and erosion that posed danger to dwellers near rivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to District Engineer Manolo A. Rojas, \u201cFlood control structures contribute to the economic growth of Maasin City as the heart of the province of Southern Leyte as it lessens harm to infrastructure and livelihood of the residents, ensuring the continuation of economic growth and social activities of the community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flood control structure is the permanent solution to safeguard the lives and properties of the residents living near rivers and other flood-prone areas.
