DPWH conducts inspection of various infra projects in So. Leyte

MAASIN CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) field office here conducted on April 27, 2021 an inspection of various projects implemented in Southern Leyte province to ensure quality of infrastructures.

The inspectorate team of this Office spearheaded by District Engineer Manolo Rojas visited different projects implemented in Maasin City, Padre Burgos, Tomas Oppus town.

Among the projects visited are the road concreting in San Agustin and Dongon villages as well as the construction of Bogo flood control, all in Maasin City; the ongoing works in the multi-purpose building project in Tomas Oppus town; and the major road slope protection project in Padre Burgos town.

“The directive to fast track completion of projects carries with it the task to regularly monitor the implementation of projects. Inspection of projects is very necessary for us to determine whether or not the contractors comply with the processes and standards set by the department,” Rojas said.

DPWH Southern Leyte is tasked to maintain 299 kilometers of national roads and 155 bridges, built in 18 towns and one city. (PR/FMMT)
